QPR Gatekeeper training arms participants with the knowledge and skills to identify the warning signs of suicide, the myths and facts associated with suicide, and -- most importantly -- to take action and connect a person with thoughts of suicide to life-saving help. This evidence-based program teaches a simple acronym, with participants learning how to Question, Persuade, and Refer someone who may be suicidal.
QPR Gatekeeper training is suitable for anyone who wants to learn how to help someone in crisis, including parents, teachers, emergency responders, healthcare providers and members of the public. Knowing how to navigate a crisis involving suicide is also an essential skill for the workplace, alongside physical first aid/CPR training.
Participants will receive a certificate and additional learning materials upon successful completion of the course.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Please consider the following before registering as we are unable to refund registration fees in the event a participant is not equipped with the appropriate technology to complete this virtual session.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: In order to acquire a QPR Gatekeeper certificate, participants must...
- Attend the full duration of the training. Those who miss more than 15 minutes of course content will be ineligible for QPR Gatekeeper certification.
- Arrive on time. In effort to maintain a psychologically safe virtual environment as we navigate this sensitive topic, participants who attempt to join the Zoom room more than 10 minutes after the scheduled start time will be unable to join. Refunds/course credits cannot be issued in these instances.
These are quality assurance measures put in place by the QPR Institute, who own and regulate the QPR Gatekeeper program, and we are unable to make exceptions.
