safeTALK is a half-day training developed and regulated by LivingWorks Education, Inc., that prepares anyone over the age of 15, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper. Suicide-alert people are better prepared to connect persons with thoughts of suicide with life-affirming help. Most people with thoughts of suicide don’t truly want to die, but are struggling with pain in their lives. Through their words and actions, they invite help to stay alive. safeTALK-trained helpers can recognize these invitations and take action by connecting them with life-saving intervention resources.
Over the course of their training, safeTALK participants will learn to:
Notice and respond to situations where suicide thoughts may be present,
Recognize that invitations for help are often overlooked,
Move beyond the common tendency to miss, dismiss, and avoid suicide,
Apply the TALK steps: Tell, Ask, Listen, KeepSafe, and
Know community resources and how to connect someone with thoughts of suicide to them for further suicide-safer help.

TRYING TO REGISTER AT WORK? If you're attempting to complete your registration using a device and/or network issued by your organization there may be a firewall in place preventing our payment platform from functioning properly, resulting in a "Hmm, Something Went Wrong" message. If you run into this issue please try registering on a personal device using a personal network. Alternatively, we can issue you an electronic invoice which can be paid directly by credit card, but please note that we are unable to reserve seats without advance payment so you will not be guaranteed a seat until the invoice is issued and paid in full. To request an invoice, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know who to make out the invoice to, the email address where it should be sent, and the details of the session you’d like to register for including course type, dates and location as well as the number of seats you’d like to reserve.
LATE REGISTRATION: Please note that due to paperwork we are required to finalize prior to our sessions it is typically not possible to accommodate requests for registration after the set registration deadline. If you have missed the deadline and wish to attend the course, please email us at email@example.com to inquire as to whether we can offer you a seat. If by chance we are able to accommodate you, an administration fee of $50.00 will apply to the registration fee and you'll be asked to submit payment by a specific date and time via an electronic invoice which can be paid directly by credit card. As our courses frequently fill to capacity before the registration deadline we encourage you to register as early as possible. Individuals who show up at sessions without having officially registered in advance cannot be accommodated.
